From choosing a career in civil engineering to starring in a Malayalam movie, my life took a lot of unexpected turns in a short span of time.

From my early days of childhood, I always enjoyed being on stage and interacting with people.  Even in my college, I was active in cultural performances like singing, dancing and hosting events.  I enjoyed the feeling of being seen. I loved the energy of being on stage.

After completing my degree in Engineering, I realized I did not want to pursue my career in Engineering. At the same time, I never really tried to pursue acting as a career because I’ve always thought I didn’t have it in me. So, I opted for the next option available, journalism.

While I was processing my application for a journalism course abroad, I got a chance to act for the first time in a Malayalam movie. I was a little bit doubtful about it. But the moment I stepped in front of the camera as an actor for the first time, I realised that it is my destiny to be there.

After finishing my first movie, while watching it in the theatres I understood there is so much more for me to learn about this craft. I started searching for a good place to learn acting. And that’s when Actor Prepares came into my life. I had known about the school for a long time but I never thought I would reach there.

I was not sure about going all the way to Mumbai.

But now that I look back, that was one the best decisions I took in my career. Travelling to Mumbai amidst a pandemic was a very challenging thing to do.

So, I decided to first try out the one-month online course in acting by Actor Prepares. I got a hang of the craft and then a month later, I landed in Mumbai for the 3-months full time Diploma course in Actor Prepares.

It was a beautiful journey. I learned a lot about cinema as a craft. The rigorous training helped me grow as a person.

It was a bit challenging for me to cope up with a new language, Hindi. But from all the support and help I got from the faculty and my friends at Actor Prepares, I was able to confidently perform my final monologue partially in Hindi. I had a lot of fun performing live on stage.

Actor Prepares transformed me as an artist and as a person and I will always be grateful to Actor Prepares. Finally, a word to all the aspiring actors out there, you’ll never know how good you are until you try. So, go for it and all the best to you all.
