Actor Prepares does not have any in-house hostel, PG or Rental Apartment facility. However being located in the heart of the city, individuals can find PG, hostel, flat sharing or private apartment accommodation facilities easily as per their preference ranging from Rs. 10,000/- and upwards.

If admission is granted to an applicant and on receipt of fee from that applicant a seat is blocked for the specific programme, no refund will be offered.

The course is primarily conducted in the Hindi language. However all our faculty understand and speak English fluently and on request will offer a translation. We have had many students who were either only fluent with English or with Hindi and have still successfully completed the course.

The science behind training an individual to act professionally is universal. However the medium one wants to act in is language dependant. If you want to be an actor in Hindi Cinema you need to know the Hindi Language, if you wish to work as an actor in International Cinema you need to know the language of that specific industry. At Actor Prepares, whatever industry you wish to act in does not matter as we teach you the techniques of acting that applied universally. The Classes are primarily conducted in the Hindi language. However all our faculty understand and speak English fluently and on request will offer a translation.

We have some of the best acting trainers in the country teaching full time, exclusively at Actor Prepares. All our acting faculty are extensively trained and have a minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience as actors and trainers.

We do provide a lot of facilities to the students. Few of those facilities are the theatre, library and the pantry.

How can the students apply for Scholarship at Actor Prepares?2019-08-28T16:41:09+05:30

For scholarship, the candidate has to submit an income certificate of all the family members. If the income is below Rs 4,00,000 per annum, the candidate is eligible for scholarship. The candidate has to pay the fees before the course starts. Management will decide the candidate who should receive the scholarship after the course ends. It totally depends on the management if they want to give the scholarship or not. The management will then select a candidate amongst all the students who have applied. The scholarship amount is Rs. 25,000/-

Why don’t we provide demo or trial classes?2019-08-28T16:43:45+05:30

Actor Prepares is the best private acting institute in the country. We have built our worldwide reputation across the years by providing quality training and world class facilities. Being a trusted brand we do not offer any demo sessions. Unlike, dance or any other performing art, one cannot experience or claim to provide experience of acting in a single demo class, hence the exclusion.

The Diploma programme actors are provided Breakfast and Lunch as per their daily schedules. In addition, free coffee and tea is also provided twice during the day. However there is no a-la-carte canteen services available for the students. Actor Prepares being centrally located has multiple restaurants and food centers located nearby.

What kind of Acting is being taught (Acting for theatre or Acting for Camera). What is the major difference between the two?2019-08-28T17:14:18+05:30

Actors will experiment with the two main styles of acting – Classical and Modern. The difference between the two is that, while Classical Acting has its roots in theatre and is more action oriented, Modern Acting is emotion driven and more suited for film. In the Diploma Programme, you will be taught Classical acting (Theatre) and techniques of Modern Acting (Acting for Camera)

On successful completion of the programme, we get our students registered at the film writer association and also refer the students to the directors and writers who are looking out for an individual to work for them.

Does Anupam Kher conduct classes at Actor Prepares?2019-08-28T17:20:36+05:30

Anupam Sir conducted classes only in the 3 month, full time, Diploma Programme. This is however subject to his availability from his shoot and other assignments. Till now, with each batch he has conducted between 3 to 6 sessions per batch. However we do not guarantee his classes as his schedule is always subject to change.

Mr. Anupam Kher the Founder and Chairman at Actor Prepares is extremely active in his career as an actor. This makes Actor Prepares the only school in the world that is run by an actor who is still professionally active. He has himself designed the training modules and course structure drawing from his 35 plus years of experience in national and international cinema. Whenever Mr. Kher is in Mumbai, he makes it a point to take classes with the Diploma Programme students. Till date very rarely has there been a batch in which he has not taken a minimum of 5 to 6 sessions. This said, his sessions are not guaranteed only due to his hectic schedules. On a side note, the Diploma Programme invites industry professionals, actors, directors, producers and casting directors for interactions with our Diploma actors. Some of the past Guest Lecturers include national and international professionals such as Robert DeNiro, Ranbir Kapoor, Danny Boyle, Anil Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Russell Peters, David Dhawan, Shoojit Sircar, Imtiaz Ali, Boman Irani, Vicky Kaushal, Abhishek Bachchan and many more.

On successful completion of the programme, through Actor Prepares Talent Company, a professional film and tv casting company in Mumbai, the profile of the actor is promoted to reach out to various directors, casting directors and producers. Actors are also provided with audition leads, casting information, managerial assistance and legal advice that helps them secure acting assignments. However Actor Prepares does not guarantee placements.

No institute, school or college in the world guarantees placements to its students. Students are provided placement opportunities in the form of audition leads, promotion of profiles, assistance and advice.

There are a minimum of 12 and maximum of 20 session each of Yoga, Dance and Martial arts held in the course of the Diploma Programme across three months.

We teach our students yoga asanas which helps them increase their focus and also martial arts combat techniques. Our students also learn various forms of dance like Indian, Bollywood, jazz and hip-hop.

Actor Prepares receives more than 300 applications for admission into the Diploma Programme in Acting. Since we can accommodate only three batches at a time, there is a need to filter the applications to identify the most sincere, dedicated, serious students with extreme passion for acting. By means of an audition we can identify students who have put in a lot of effort in the act vs who have not. We can identify if a student is serious about learning or not. We can make out if a student is passionate about acting or not. The audition is not to check the quality of acting, it is more to check the effort taken to prepare.

More than 75% of the admission intakes into the Diploma Programme have never acted or faced a camera before in their lives. So yes, freshers can apply for admission into the Diploma Programme in Acting.

Yes, we conduct two day and one day workshops for film and stage acting. We also conduct screenwriting, mime, dance and other customised workshops. These workshops are conducted once in a while and are not a part of our regular courses.
