MIME acting is a form of physical theatre which involves acting out a story through body motions, without the use of speech. Training in this form helps actors use their body more effectively in communication as it places immense focus on expression and movement. This strengthens an actor’s skill and helps make them become more convincing on stage and camera when speech is included.
In this 3-day workshop participants will be engaged in various body movement techniques that are enhanced with sensory and emotion inputs on senses and emotions. Kunal Motling will take the students through the below topics:
- Introduction to MIME
- Scientific and technical training about Body Movement and Body Balance
- Create body awareness among everyone through physical training to develop precise movement to develop illusions.
- Fix Point exercises.
- Using creativity to form a character using MIME walk and Illusions
Kunal Motling is a renowned MIME artist from Mumbai. He is a member of the World Mime Organisation and in 2015, was a part of the main organizing committee of the International Mime Festival, at Auroville, Pondicherry. His training has been under the tutelage of the great gurus Shri Bapee Daas and Padmashree awardee, Shri Niranjan Goswami. Having performed across India and won many accolades, Kunal made his film debut with the featureRustom, also starring Akshay Kumar. He has also featured in various promotional videos and TV commercials.
