Actor Prepares - Young Actors Training Program
Actor Prepares - Young Actors Training Program

PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

Our One-Year Conservatory Programme aims to cultivate confident and authentic performers, emphasizing on guiding each performer in discovering their own creative process. With focus on screen acting, our ensemble training encourages the students to explore the diversity of the craft and not confine their artistic perspective to one school of thought. Through this approach we strive to empower them to consistently grow and adapt to industry demands, and excel as a performer.

ACADEMIC OVERVIEW

Our One-Year Conservatory Programme spans across four terms, each designed to provide a transformative experience for aspiring actors thereby making them highly skilled and well-rounded professionals. Our extensive curriculum offers a comprehensive grasp of acting, incorporating fundamental principles, advanced techniques, stage exposure, and screen proficiency.

The term one of the programme centres on self–exploration enabling the students to connect with themselves on a deeper level and understand the various psychological nuances as a performer. The students will be encouraged to let go of all inhibitions, develop essential skills and re-condition themselves to build the mind-set of a performer. This phase guides students to attain intellectual, physical, and emotional readiness crucial to an actor’s working process.

In term two, building upon the foundation established, students will delve into learning the craft of acting by drawing inspiration from various theories, real-life experiences and their surroundings. This term is dedicated to empower the students to take control of their artistic development and identify their individual process to approaching a script. Through scene studies and in-depth character analysis, students will be encouraged to push the boundaries of their artistic expression.

In the dynamic phase of term three, students take centre stage with active involvement in a prominent theatrical production. Applying the understanding of their individual process from the preceding terms, the students will meticulously refine their craft, culminating in a compelling showcase of their talent. The primary goal is to mirror and integrate contemporary professional practices in theatre, providing a platform that significantly contributes to the student’s sustainable growth, both as skilled performer and emerging professional in the field.

The final term of our program is dedicated to screen acting. In this term, students consolidate insights, theoretical foundations, and practical experiences from their training so far, seamlessly blending with the principles of acting for the camera. This includes understanding camera angles, hitting marks, and conveying emotions effectively on screen through a rigorous practice of multiple scenes across genres. This term marks the pinnacle of the program with a production tailored for the camera. It offers students a platform to understand creative choices, technical demands, and expectations on a professional film set.

To bridge the gap between academia and the industry, students will have the invaluable opportunity to attend a series of guest lectures delivered by notable celebrities. Our program also includes advanced business skills and focuses on preparing students for the industry through teaching them audition techniques, creating sample photos, an actor’s resume, work links and an overall portfolio development.

It also places emphasis on developing essential public speaking skills and enhancing the overall personality. The sessions will be conducted for 7.5 hours a day encompassing 4.5 hours of training and 3 hours of research & practice from Monday to Saturday. If you’re driven, dedicated and eager, explore our program and achieve your goals in the entertainment industry.
